About The Department
The Department of Public Administration was established in the 2022/2023 academic session under the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences. The programme was created to meet the growing demand for skilled public sector leaders and administrators in Nigeria.
The curriculum was designed in full compliance with the National Universities Commission (NUC) Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) and provides students with a solid foundation in public administration principles, ethics, and practical management skills. The programme also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, preparing graduates for effective service in government, development agencies, and related organizations.

Vision
The mission of the Department of Public Administration is to provide high-quality teaching, research, and policy engagement through:
- rigorous training in public sector management, policy analysis, and administrative leadership;
- promotion of transparency, accountability, and good governance practices;
- research that informs public policy, institutional reform, and development administration in Nigeria; and
- preparation of graduates for leadership roles in government, development agencies, and the non-profit sector.
To be a centre of excellence in public administration education and research, producing competent professionals committed to effective governance, accountability, and sustainable public service delivery.
