This was in respond to a request for varieties of trees seedlings sent to the state afforestation Programme.
The allocation of the seedlings was presented to the Vice Chancellor of the northwest university sokoto Professor Ahmad Maigari Ibrahim, by the zonal forest officer, Muktar Aliyu on behalf of the programme Manager.
Presenting the allocation letter to the Vice Chancellor, the zonal forest officer advised the management of the University to ensure proper managing, protection and monitoring which he said are key to successful growing of trees.
He commended the University for it’s passion and commitment to supporting afforestation Programme in the state.
Receiving the allocation letter, the Vice Chancellor of the northwest university sokoto Professor Ahmad Maigari Ibrahim thanked the Sokoto afforestation Programmed for the kind gesture.
Professor Maigari assured the commitment of the University to nurture the trees to maturity through proper management, protection and monitoring.
The varieties of trees seedlings allocated the University by the afforestation Programme include, fifty Neem (50),seedlings, twenty moringa seedlings, (20), thirty tamarind seedlings (30), ten malga seedlings (10), ten cashews seedlings (10), ten baobabs seedlings (10)and ten paw-paw seedlings.
The presentation of the allocation letter was witnessed by the registrar of the institution Umar Musa Garun Babba, as well as other management staff.
