About The Department
The Department of Computing at Northwest University, Sokoto is one of the pioneer departments established in 2022 under the Faculty of Science and Computing. The Department offers undergraduate programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering.
The Department is committed to providing students with a strong foundation in the theoretical, algorithmic, and practical aspects of computing. Its programmes emphasize problem-solving, software and systems development, secure and reliable computing, and the effective application of modern information and communication technologies to real-world challenges.

On behalf of the academic and non-academic staff, I warmly welcome you to the Department of Computing, Northwest University, Sokoto. Our Department is one of the pioneer departments established in 2022 under the Faculty of Science and Computing, and it plays a vital role in advancing computing education, research, and innovation within the University.
The Department offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree programmes in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering, all designed to equip students with strong theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competence required in today’s dynamic digital world. We place strong emphasis on problem-solving, software and systems development, secure computing, and the application of modern technologies to real-life challenges.
