1.The establishment of the University

Actualization of the idea of Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) began in the year 2020, when the proposal for the establishment of the university was submitted to the National University Commission (NUC), in February, 2020. The approval to start the university activities was obtained on the 12th day of May, 2022.
However, the general concept of the Northwest University has started long years ago, about 15 years or more, by the then Northwest Governors, among which is our proprietor; Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, Senator, Dr. Aliyu Magatakada Wamakko.

2.The purpose of establishing the University before and now lies on the ground

• Providing quality education to the teeming population northwestern states in particular and the nation, world at large.
• Complement the efforts of government in providing education to the Nigerian citizens.
• To bridge the large gap in education between northern and southern regions of Nigeria.
• To revolutionized educational development in terms innovations and entrepreneurial skills.

3. In order to term with the current economic hardship in the country in general and Northern Nigeria in particular, we reduce our tuition fees to the lowest level that people can afford, our fees are the lowest when compared to other private universities operating in Nigeria as a whole.
