Brief History
The Faculty of Computing and Science at Northwest University, Sokoto, represents a cornerstone of the university’s commitment to advancing scientific inquiry, technological innovation, and digital literacy in Northern Nigeria. Its establishment aligns with national and global imperatives to build capacity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The Faculty was established in 2022/2023 academic session. The Faculty of Computing and Science was one of the foundational faculties created to anchor the university’s academic portfolio in science and technology. It began with a core set of programs in fundamental sciences such as Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, alongside computing programmes. These include B.Sc. Software Engineering, B.Sc. Cybersecurity, B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc. Information & Communication Technology. The faculty was founded to address the critical gap in skilled manpower in ICT and applied sciences supporting national goals for digital transformation and scientific development.

Vision
The mission of the Faculty of Law is to advance legal education, research, and community service through:
- delivery of rigorous and integrated legal training;
- development of analytical reasoning, advocacy, research, and professional skills in students;
- promotion of ethical conduct, justice, and respect for the rule of law;
- advancement of legal research and scholarship relevant to Nigeria’s plural legal system; and
- preparation of graduates for the Nigerian Law School, legal practice, public service, and other careers.
To be a centre of excellence in legal education and research to produce competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates committed to justice, the rule of law, and national development.
