STELLAR (Students Empowered Through Language, Literacy, and Arithmetic) is one of AUN’s development projects. The goal of the STELLAR project is to fortify the academic foundation of primary school students in Adamawa State to empower them to stay and succeed in school and realize their full potential. One of the activities of the project involves AUN students in writing and publishing age-appropriate children’s books in English, Hausa, and Fulfulde. The purpose is to provide engaging, educational, linguistically and culturally relevant reading materials for the STELLAR target population. The illustrations in the books are mainly images with Creative Commons license or from public domain. The STELLAR children books are published with a Creative Commons license which allows anyone to print, adapt, or translate them to fit the needs of their context.
