The TELA is a USAID sponsored project aimed at improving literacy and numeracy in Adamawa State of Nigeria.
TELA is an acronym for Technology Enhanced Learning for All.
TELA Program will prepare and broadcast radio lessons to enhance literacy and numeracy twice each week for 30 weeks. TELA will also distribute radio sets and workbooks to an estimated 20,000 beneficiaries aged 6-17 year old. This will take place every 2 weeks. In addition, there will be after-school tutoring using tablets and workbooks for 500 primary II children enrolled in local primary schools. This will occur twice each week during the course of 1 term. Finally, 5 day reading camps will be held for 1400 children drawn from both radio listeners and after-school tutoring groups.
