The Student Union of Sokoto State University, under the dynamic leadership of its President, Comrade Muhammad Shafi’u, paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Vice Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Maigari Ibrahim, on Tuesday, March 26. The delegation was warmly received by the Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Rabi’u Muhammad, and Malam Zaharaddeen Dahiru, Head of Public Relations, at the Senate building.
The purpose of the visit was to foster a relationship of collaboration between Sokoto State University and Northwest University, with the aim of establishing a similar student union at the latter institution. Comrade Muhammad Shafi’u expressed the desire to familiarize himself with Northwest University and explore potential areas of cooperation.
In response, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr Rabi’u Muhammad, expressed his appreciation for the gesture and commended the student body for considering Northwest University as a potential partner. He assured the delegation of the university’s readiness to engage in fruitful collaboration in the near future.
Malam Zaharaddeen Dahiru, the Head of Public Relations, lauded the Sokoto State University Student Union for their foresight in seeking collaboration with Northwest University. He emphasized the fundamental relationship between the two institutions, as they were both founded by His Excellency, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. He stressed the importance of a mutual and common goal, highlighting the potential benefits that could be derived from such a partnership.
The Sokoto State University Student Union expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and extended their commitment to working closely with Northwest University for possible mutual benefit. They acknowledged the shared values and aspirations of both institutions and expressed optimism in the potential outcomes of this collaboration.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their eagerness to embark on a journey of collaboration that will not only strengthen the ties between Sokoto State University and Northwest University but also contribute to the overall development of the education sector in Nigeria.
