The Vice Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Prof. Bashir Garba MFR, and his secretary, Mr. Zayyanu Shehu, recently welcomed the Public Relations Officer and Chairman of NWUS magazine, Mal. Zaharadeen Dahiru, and his team members.
Mr. Zaharadeen Dahiru expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and honored the Vice Chancellor for his achievements. He also sought an audience for an interactive interview with the Vice Chancellor.
In his welcome speech, Prof. Garba highlighted the shared bond between NWUS and SSU as sister universities with the same founder, Senator Aliyu Magartakarda Wamako. The Vice Chancellor commended the founder’s contribution to the educational sector in Sokoto State and his support for higher education.
Prof. Garba expressed his delight in the collaboration and teamwork between NWUS and SSU and pledged to support NWUS in its endeavors. He presented copies of SSU’s bulletin to Mr. Zaharadeen and acknowledged the magazine’s potential in promoting the institution to the public.
During the interview, the Chairman of NWUS magazine asked the Vice Chancellor about his career, successes, and expectations from the government. The Vice Chancellor also mentioned his intention to enroll a child in NWUS.
Mr. Aliyu, a committee member, and the Secretary to the Registrar of NWUS, appreciated the warm reception and the Vice Chancellor’s willingness to support the magazine committee.
The visit to SSU was a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the two universities and promoting educational excellence in Sokoto State.
